Banksy + Alt-Weeklies: BFFs?

How did the Village Voice manage to score an exclusive interview with Banksy for its cover story this week? According to a publicist for the elusive street artist, the Voice was granted access because Banksy "feels an affinity with people who provide quality content for free on street corners."

Did you hear that, alt-weeklies? Banksy basically asked you to go steady with him.

Banksy is supposedly in New York for a month-long residency during which he'll unveil a new piece of art every day on the streets.
