Eight AAN Board Seats Up for Election

Eight seats on the AAN Board of Directors will be up for election this year at the association's annual meeting in Austin:

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Membership Chair

  • Marketing Chair

  • Design Chair

  • Two At-Large Positions


    • The term for each of these positions is two years. In addition, a representative of the host paper for next year's Annual Convention will be elected to a one-year term as Convention Chair.

    The annual meeting will be held in Austin on Saturday, July 9, during the final day of the 2016 AAN Convention.

    If you are interested in running for the board, please email directors@aan.org by June 20 and include a headshot and an answer to the following two questions:

    1. Why do you want to be on the AAN board?

    2. In your view, what are the highest priorities for AAN as an organization?

    Those who do not announce their candidacy in advance may still run for a position on the board if they are nominated from the floor during the annual meeting.

    In order to be eligible for election, AAN bylaws require that candidates be either a full-time employee of a Regular member publication or an owner of at least a 2-percent share of a Regular member publication.
