J-Lab's Knight-Batten Awards Honor Innovations in Social Media
J-Lab recently awarded Storify $10, 000 through its Knight-Batten Awards for Innovations in Journalism.

The awards, funded by Knight Foundation, honor creative methods of technology for community involvement and newsgathering.

West Africa Democracy Radio, NPR social-media strategist Andy Carvin's Twitter activity, Bloomberg Government, and The Texas Triburne, were also recognized with Special Distinction for their use of social media, data and open-source software.

More information about these projects will be given at a symposium Sept. 7 at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.
