When it was founded in 1974, the Santa Fe Reporter's mission was to
create lively competition for a stodgy and timid daily press. That tradition
continues today.
The Reporter investigates beneath the surface, presenting in-depth stories often overlooked or uninvestigated by the daily press. As a result SFR has distinguished itself with strong coverage of local politics and award-winning writing about the city.
The Reporter also provides in- depth cultural coverage in a city with a vigorous arts scene. Each week, the Santa Fe Reporter's visual arts, film, movie and performing arts section places an emphasis on exciting and critical writing.
SFR also publishes special issues and magazine-style supplements that include seasonal guides to the best indoor and outdoor activities, an award-winning restaurant guide, and Annual Manual, the definitive locals' resource guide to living in Santa Fe.
The distinctive voices in the Reporter has earned it numerous state and national awards. More importantly, it has earned SFR a fiercely loyal readership and penetration of the local market ahead of its daily rival.
