Strike Averted: Tentative Agreement Reached in Village Voice Labor Talks
Village Voice staff writer and union spokesperson Graham Rayman says that a tentative agreement has been reached in contract negotiations with management, averting a labor strike at the iconic alt-weekly.

The union's three-year contract expires at midnight tonight, and the Voice staff has authorized a strike and set up an alternate website in preparation for a work stoppage.

Terms of the deal are not being disclosed until the offer is presented to the full membership tomorrow morning.

“I'm just happy we have a deal,” said editor (i.e., management) Tony Ortega in an email. “Now we can get back to the work of journalism.”
