'Hounddog': Amorphous Southern Soupnew
Even before its premiere at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, Hounddog was known as "the Dakota Fanning rape movie." The film got a lot of notoriety but for more than a year, until this spring, couldn't get a distributor.

It was all sound and fury, signifying nothing, which is also a good description of the political and media circus that has surrounded Hounddog since midway through shooting in the summer of 2006 in eastern North Carolina.
