VVM Sells The Pitch of Kansas City to Southcomm, Inc.

Village Voice Media has sold Kansas City-based
The Pitch to Southcomm, Inc., which also owns
LEO Weekly and previously-VVM-owned
Nashville Scene.
Managing Editor
Scott Wilson has been named acting editor, replacing Joe Tone.

Village Voice Media Holdings announced today it has sold The Pitch of Kansas City to Nashville-based media company Southcomm, Inc.
The sale is effective immediately; terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.
VVMH has owned and operated The Pitch since 1999. During that time, the paper, founded in 1980, has won numerous national and regional journalism awards and its website, pitch.com, has become a leading source of daily news, food, music and arts coverage in Kansas City.
VVMH publishes weekly newspapers and websites in thirteen major American markets, including New York, Los Angeles, Denver and Miami. It also owns the Voice Media Group, which sells national advertising for alternative web and print publications in the nation’s Top 50 markets.
