Getting Around
New Orleans is the cultural capital of the South, yet the city is remarkably compact and easy to navigate. Many of the city's attractions, accommodations and event venues are within walking distance of each other.
But, if you prefer wheels to legs, New Orleans has a very accessible and reasonably priced public transportation system, too. It only costs $1.25 to take an RTA bus . . . or one of the city's famed streetcars, which travel the Riverfront and Canal Street. Where else can you actually ride on a historic landmark?
Want more detailed local transit info? The Regional Transit Authority site is the place to find it.
