AAN in NOLA: Nights of 'Divine Deviance' Await
Gambit publisher and AAN Convention Chair Margo DuBos has planned a night of divine deviance for the evening of Friday, July 22 in The Republic, located at 828 South Peters.
The Tyronne Foster & The Arc Singers gospel choir will begin the night's festivities, followed by a performance from New Orleans burlesque troupe Bustout Burlesque. The Stooges Brass Band will close out the evening. New Orleans cuisine will be served, as well as free drinks.

The Stooges Brass Band has been a premier New Orleans Brass Band since 1996, While appealing to the emotions of traditional jazz, they incorporate hip hop sounds that sets them apart from all others. DuBos said the goal is that the audience will "leave at 10 feeling real happy."
The following evening, the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS) will be hosting a closing cocktail reception at the Museum of the American Cocktail.
DISCUS is the national trade association representing the makers of distilled spirits products sold in America. Vice President Ben Jenkins said the organization is "thrilled to partner with AAN on a reception that's sure to be festive, educational and refreshing."
"Well-informed coverage of the local spirits scene is more important now than ever," he said. "As other print newsrooms shrink around the country, the alts are taking an increasing role in covering spirits from a policy perspective, too."
Along with a exclusive tour of the museum, participants will also able to enjoy famous New Orleans cocktails, such as The Sazarac, Hurricane and Pimm's Cup.
